Computer details:
AMD Phenom II x4 940
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560
Gigabyte motherboard GA-MA 790X-UD 4P
Windows 7
First off, yes I have an older computer but I don't play newer games this machine works well for me with the older games that I play (like Banished).
In the past I have reformatted my computer a couple of times and have re installed everything with out having issues. However this time I recently reformatted my computer the GPU seems to be acting up.
Normally it is quite obvious when the GPU is being fully utilized as it has a very noisy fan when it gets used and it sounds like a plane is about to take off.
After reformatting the computer and reinstalling the drivers, when I run my games the frame rate is horrible (estimated at about 10-20fps) and the GPU does not heat up as it used to. Even watching youtube videos is quite laggy.
Using GPU-Z I can it shows that the GPU load is 100% but the temperatures do not rise at all, they remain at a steady 30 degrees C.
I have tried adjusting settings in the NVIDIA Control Panel, but have not had any success. It almost feels like the GPU is being throttled or is not allowed to be running at its full capability. Sorry I am not very knowledgeable in this area.
Here is some more of the GPU data that was collected while running my game.
GPU Core Clock [MHz] = 50.6
GPU Memory Clock [MHz] = 67.5
GPU Shader Clock [MHz] = 101.0
GPU Temperature [°C] = 30.0
Fan Speed (%) [%] = 30
Fan Speed (RPM) [RPM] = 1200
Memory Used [MB] = 310
GPU Load [%] = 100
Memory Controller Load [%] = 27
Video Engine Load [%] = 0
Bus Interface Load [%] = 1
PerfCap Reason [] = 0
VDDC [V] = 0.875
Thanks in advance for any help.
