CPU: Intel i7 8700
GPU: Gigabyte Radeon R9 380x 4GB
Motherboard: MSI H310M Pro-VD
PSU: SeaSonic S12II 520 Watts
RAM: 2x4GB DDR4
OS: Windows 10

Alright so after noticing less performance than I thought I should have, I checked in the BIOS to see what the problem was (MSI Click 5) and in the "Board Explorer" section it says the PCIe slot is empty which is obviously not right since my GPU is indeed in there and lights up (note the of the GPU are not spinning.) My GPU is NOT listed in dxdiag and my computer is run off integrated graphics. I get no signal when connecting the monitor directly to the GPU and I only get a display from the port on the motherboard. Also, when attempting to download the drivers for my GPU it also says no AMD graphics detected or something along that lines. Could this be a problem with the GPU itself or something else entirely? I'm honestly not sure if my GPU has worked since I got it 2015...

yeah... I can't exactly recall if I was ever able to connect the monitor directly to the gpu since I didn't even think about that back then

Could be that your GPU is dead.
I assume you have properly connected the PCI-E power cables?

The only way to exclude any other components would be to test it in another system.

is it a possibilty that the lights of the gpu would still light up if the power cable was faulty?

wait two connectors as in the the two parts of the 8 pin connector or both the 8 pin and something else? (also the gpu does heat up but the fans don't spin)

I don't thing I have another but the gpu heats up so I would think that means it's getting power
