I just put together this new build, and everything runs great and games are awesome, but I'm having a problem that I don't really understand.

Every other time I boot up the computer, the VGA red light comes on on the mobo, and the GPU is not detected-- thus no picture.

This is especially confusing because the other times it boots up and I have no performance issues whatsoever.

The only thing that I've tried so far is re-seating the graphics card to make sure it was fastened as well as switching the two 8-pin VGA cables to different spots on my PSU. (There are two separate 8 pins going into the card and PSU).

Does anyone have any idea as to what the problem could be to cause my computer to run perfectly, but for it to not detect the GPU every other time it boots? Also, I noticed that even during the times that it DOES boot, the VGA red light initially comes on but goes off once the GPU is detected.

Also, any troubleshooting advice is much appreciated. Thank you!

I couldn't find any notes for the BIOS update specifically mentioning my problem, however, it's been about a week and a half since my BIOS flash, and I have had a successful boot each time, so the update fixed the problem.

Much appreciated.
