Hello! I built my first ever PC for my birthday last year in may. It had a Asus Strix 1080, an i7 7700 and 8gb of ram all on an Asus Strix Z270F powered with a corsair CX750M PSU. However, I recently won from Nvidia UK's official Instagram account (it was verified) a MSI gaming x trio 1080 ti. It worked like a dream for a few weeks, it was all plain sailing. i sold the 1080 on eBay and it was all great. But, a few days ago, i was playing a game of PUBG, like usual, and suddenly my display shut off and my fans spun up to 100%, making an incredibly loud noise which became very worrying. I shut it off and my GPU was no longer working. The lights were on on the GPU but no display output. I booted in with the onboard GPU and the 1080 ti was not recognised in device manager. I managed to fix it for a while through reseating it over and over. But after testing it in CSGO which worked perfect and then switching to the more demanding Battlefront 2, the same outcome: Fans spin at 100% and display shuts off.
the thing i'm worried about is not getting a replacement from MSi as I won the card in a giveaway. Please help!

ah, i can't. The drive cage in my case blocks where the graphics card would sit

Well, there is a workaround for that - removing whole setup from case. Yeah, hell of work for sure. And not exactly a solution, but I would ask you to do that anyway, as it can help to find out if GPU is fine. Getting new case is cheaper then getting new GPU after all.

sure, i'll try. I'm not really the best at this part of the building process, so i'll do what i can

DEAR EVERYONE! I am an idiot. I checked my PSU and my PCI power cable on the PSU was loose. I pushed it in further and ran Battlefield 1 no problem. Thank you so much for your help, but it was just me being an idiot! Thanks
