Question GPU not recognized by the pc

GPU: RX 580 sapphire nitro 4gb
MB: p8h61-m lx3 plus r2.0
Monitor: AOC g2460vq6
Neither the device manager nor the driver installer recognize it.
Things i know for a fact:
-the monitor, hdmi and gpu are all working perfectly
-changing bios preference does nothing
-purging the driver does nothing
I'm typing this from the same pc, using intel HD. The gpu powers on and the fans are spinning. I'm thinking it's the PCIE slot being partially fried. Thoughts ?

irrelevant, the gpu works when plugged in a different motherboard but with the same psu

EDIT: it's a corsair vs650 anyway

to confirm that board pci-e slot is out do you have a older gpu you could try in .

Had the same problem with my RX580 ,its seems the software has to be installed before you put the gpu in the motherboard.I unseated the gpu from its socket installed Radeon Adrenalin ,reinstalled the gpu and away it went

I would bet that you need to update your bios. Older boards sometimes have problems recognizing newer GPUs and a bios update would usually fix that. Happened to me before....

I've been using this combo for a year.
