i've got a sapphire toxic r9 270x,and Asus m5a97.r2 mobo, it comes with 2 gpu slot one black and other blue, according to instruction guide of the mobo, the blue slot i.e. PCI x16 runs at the speed of x16,and the other one runs at the speed of x4,now my gpu is not working with the blue one which provides x16 speed, but it is working with black one with x4 speed,SO WILL IT AFFECT THE GPU'S PERFORMANCE WHILE GAMING?

Solution
The bandwidth of the x4 slot isn't big enough for the R9 270X. You'll need x8 or x16 to utilise it effectively. Dunno what VincentP is on about but the R9 270X is made by AMD, not Nvidia (probably some sorta typo).

Solution

It is recommended to run at PCIe 3.0 x4 minimum. So running at PCIe 2.0 x4 can be a problem and will affect the GPU's performance. It's a slight bottleneck but it's better than nothing right?
