I am considering buying a 3930k and a 1060 6gb or keep my i5 3470 and buy a 1070. Both options are $350. I have a 144hz monitor so i do not know if the 3470 would be able to push out those higher frames. But i also do not know if the 1060 6gb would be able to push out higher frames.

A 3930K uses a different socket than an i5-3470, you'd have to swap motherboards.

I'd be looking to get a cheap GTX 1070 while prices are good. Too bad, earlier today there were 3 different EVGA GTX 1070 SC and FTW for $260 ea. on eBay.

If you want to stay on the same platform, look for an i7-3770(K).

Im not sure because there is a Randomgaminginhd video where he paired a 1070 with a 3470 and at 1080p there was surprising little bottleneck, the cpu was not maxed out in many games including pubg. the only game where you could see a bottleneck was gta 5

Well, those are all pretty good prices. I've used a GTX 1060 3GB, 6GB; RX 570 4GB, RX 580 8GB, GTX 1070, and GTX 1080 Ti all at 1080p, and even the GTX 1070 struggles with the newest titles like AC Origins, had to turn some setting down a little to maintain 60fps. I think the GTX 1070 will be the 60fps 1080p gaming standard moving forward with top select titles. But, there will still be a large portion of games that will run well on the GTX 1060 6GB.
