I'm trying to find out what caused my PC (2019- Ryzen 7 build) to suddenly crash that also impacted the monitor(tv). I want to understand so it doesn't happen again please?
While gaming... I heard a series of "sequential" beeps then the PC shut down. When I restarted the PC -everything on the TV monitor was reversed. (Both PC and TV are plugged into separate surge protectors) I tried the hot keys to fix the text-nothing worked. I swapped to a new HDMI cable- no change, pulled out the GPU, dusted and re-inserted. The TV didn't recognize the pc, afterward... But I found, if I moved the pc a little here and there- then the TV did pick it up (so maybe issue with HDMI connector on the GPU - Radeon RX 580?) I swapped to an older PC- saw the same reversed text with the TV, same result if using DVD player.
In short- bought a new 4K HD TV/monitor and ordered a new gaming pc.
Below are the specs:
AMD RYZEN 7 2700x 3.7 GJZ (4.35GHZ Turbo) 8-core
0MB cache 105W CPU Tray
120GB ED Green SSD 2.5” SATAIII 6.0 GB/S
1TB WD Caviar Blue HDD 3.5” SATAII 7200 RPM 6.0 GB/S
ADATA SPECTRIX XPG D80 RGB 9GB DDR4-3200 Memory
Case Fan 120 mm
ASETEK 570 LXL 240mm Water Cooloer
Case Fan 120 mm
AMD AM4 Retention Ring (Asetek)
Syber M 2.0 Black Mid Tower
ASUS TUF X470-Plus Gaming AM4 ATX W/ RGB USB 3.1 SATA
3 2 M.2 Crossfire
AMD Radeon Rx 580 8GB GDDR 5 PCI-E 3.0
Windows 10 Home
Onboard 7.1 sound
ATNG 800 WATT 80 Plus Gold Power Supply
Monitor- Vizio M420NV =NOW replaced with Vizio P65Q9-J01
(The PC in question does work with new TV, but shuts down after 20 min while gaming).
Questions are- any ideas on what was the root cause?
Can this be prevented or anticipated sooner, if yes how please?
Is the PC salvageable?
Thanks!
M
