GPU overclock gives black screen

im trying to overclock my gtx 1080 but when i overclock it and run a benchmark the monitor turns black and then it resets the overclock . im trying put the core clock on 120 and memory clock on 200-300 but neither of them work .Im using msi afterburner by the way . shall i try a different software like precision x or xtreme.

Gigabyte GTX 1080(3 fan version)
12gb DDR4
Ryzen 2700x
xc600
x470 asus strix
genome ii case
144hz monitor
