Can a too high memory overclock lower benchmark score even tho I have no artifacts or crashes?

how much should I lower it when I start see artifacts?
running at 9500mhz memory clock shows some artifacts sometimes
9460 no artifacts at all

Run it where it runs the best. Each piece of software will be different. In Timespy, you might be able to run it at 9800, in Heaven you might be able to push it to 9700, in Firestrike, you might only be able to get 9400...all of your games will react to the memory clocks differently as well.

Don't forget too, that the higher the memory clock is, the more power it's going to draw from your GPU....higher memory clocks can sometimes mean, the overclock on the GPU core can become unstable due to limited power. Just gotta figure out which works best for your GPU, in the things you want to overclock it for.
