I am facing GPU overheat problem. In idle it hits 110 degree C & within 2-3 min display is going off. I have MSI 5770 which is just over 3 years old. Now I have to run my PC without GPU. Any solution?
Sounds like the heatsink is not even contacting the GPU. Youl should disassemble the card completely, repaste and make sure it has good thermal contact.
A thermal paste reapply will help. It shouldn't matter how dusty the fans get, a gpu at idle shouldn't hit those temps. you don't need to buy high end stuff, just put on a new layer of whatever you got or buy a new tube for $5-8.
Today I apply the thermal paste, coolermaster one. But the idle temp is still 80 degree C & within an hour it rise upto 110, then again the display goes off. What could be the reason??
I clean the heatsink, fan & other stuff also.
