Gtx 970 or R9290 What do you believe is better and why

Prices are about the same with the r9 leading about $25. You will need a pretty good PSU to push an amd GPU and even larger PSU if you plan on a sli setup ever. On the other hand, the gtx 970 has serious stuttering issues when you push it. This is due to the fact the way nvidia processes the 4 gig of vram. If you decide to get the gtx 960 instead the amd r9 280x is more powerful, but you will need a strong PSU. I have the gtx 980 myself.
