Bought a XFX Merc 310 7900 XTX GPU
Also bought a MSI APG 1000 PCIE5.0 ready fully modular PSU

GPU has (3) 8-pin connections (6+2).

On the PSU I have 2 remaining 8 pin connections and a +12VHPWR connection available.

What cables and connections do I use?

I was thinking you would hook up an 8-pin connector to PSU which actually branches to (2) 8-pin connectors (6+2) and then also use the +12VHPWR cable that goes to an 8-pin (6+2).

Very confused because I can also completely avoid the +12VHPWR connector and just use 2 of the supplied normal 8-pin connectors which branch off to 4 total 6+2 connectors.

Please advise. Already booted PC without GPU and this is my last step before installing Windows and getting fully set up.

Thanks,

Is it OK to use the cables that are 8-pin to double 6+2 ?

Weird to me that they make splitter cables, but I guess at the end of the day it's not drawing THAT much power.

those cables are designed to provide the power to both of the 8-pins it has.

it's not a splitter in that it is not trying to split a single 8-pin into 2 of them. so its perfectly safe to use it as designed.
