GPU Price History of When A New Card is Announced/Realeased

I am trying to find pricing history on cards from when a new series was announced to see how much the price dropped. I am looking to purchase a GTX 980 ti to boost my 4k performance but am waiting for Nvidia to announce their next series of Pascal cards in hopes of snagging a better deal. Any information on this would be much appreciated!

That said if you're hoping for the price to really tank, its not going to. They just stop building them usually well in advance. Sometimes you snag a deal but generally they just sell out and thats it.

When Pascal comes out there is a chance it may drop somewhat, just don't expect to save a ton of money on new ones. You need to hit that sweet spot of price drop and stock running out in between which may be a very short period of time. It may be worth it to just watch the prices like a hawk, and hope to get lucky. Unless you just want it right now.

The prices might drop a little, as others have noted. However, your best bet is to sign up for a "newsletter" like Newegg's and wait until a little before launch or just after, that is when the bigger sales and discounts happen in attempts to deplete the stock, however, you run into the possibility of stock running out of the specific card you might want or even running out entirely.
