Yesterday, suddenly my monitor turned black without my desktop shutting off. I checked if it was a monitor related problem but the screen was working properly with another pc. After that I cleaned a bit the case from dust that had accumulated and disconnected the GPU from the motherboard slot and cleaned it. I rebooted my pc and to my surprise the problem seemed to be fixed, but when I went on to boot a game it felt slow and sluggish. After that I went to check if it was a temperature related GPU problem and I realized that windows had automatically changed to integrated graphics and had completely switched off my GPU .
After checking the device manager I found out that the device status for the GPU is : Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43).
I checked the internet for easy solutions (like drivers being up to date etc...) but none seemed to solve my issues.
Lastly my hdmi cable is connected to the GPU at the back of the case, not directly to the motherboard.
The specs are:
CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 2600
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 760 4GB
Motherboard: Aorus B450 M
Ram: 2x8 GB Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4
Power supply: just a generic 750 Watt
Thanks in advance!
