Hi good day i bought a new asus gtx 730 2gb ddr3 to replace my gtx 250 im not really into gaming.

The problem now is my pc suddenly shut offs randomly but plugging the gtx250 works fine is it a faulty gpu i have a 580w psu and amd a8 7600 cpu

Do i have a faulty gpu?

Solution
You need to uninstall the old drivers with the old card plugged in using DDU.
The, once you uninstall the drivers, POWER DOWN THE SYSTEM, unplug it, remove the old GPU.

Then, install the new GPU into your computer, turn it on, and install the drivers.

If this doesn't work, you either do not have a good enough power supply (I recommend 500w+), or the card is faulty.

I think you can unclick it or something.

It still may be your PSU though. You have more than enough wattage, but the PSU could be bad.
I'd try buying a good 550w power supply. Seasonic 2 550w its like ~$50, and super duper reliable. Give that a spin and see if that solves your problem.

Thanks for your reply again about the downvote it cant be uncliked it says you already voted.

The only reason i think its not the psu its because gts 250 consumes more than the gt730 and gts 250 still works fine mm what i will do is try to get my gpu replaced then if it still doesn't work its the psu. Thanks.

What I mean is the PSU could be failing.
Let me clarify one detail, does the entire system suddenly shut down and restart, or does the screen just shut off, requiring you restart to get it to work again?

I think you said the second part was what was going on.

It suddenly shuts off like a power outage but the power button lights is still lit and i need to remove the plug from th outlet replug it in order for it to be re started

I do think it's possible to be the psu.

What i meant was the gts 250 consumes more power than the gt730 and yet when i plug my gts 250 it still works flawlessly so i am doubting that its the psu but still cant be sure.

It is the power supply hahaha thanks for the effort in answering my question power supplies are very tricky now i bought a corsair vs650 which is more expensive than the gpu hahaha by about 5usd thanks again
