My grandson, 11 years old , is just starting into computer games. He has a Dell Inspiron 537, I-5 quad, 3.4 Ghz. Looking for a video card to replace his Radeon 6450. Friend suggested a GTX 1050 TI with 4 GB. another suggested a Radeon G570. I known both are overkill for his existing desktop, but somewhere in future it will be upgraded. Any other GPU suggestions. Budget is Max $350

Solution
I know it is old and outdated, but it is a family cast-off and it is free. It will be replaced in the near (6 moths to a year) future. I want to buy a GPU that will be also useable in the next computer.
The GTX 1650 will certainly work in newer rigs. Just keep in mind, it too is on the lower end of performance. High end GPUs are in very limited supply and astronomically priced as a result.

You can actually get a pre-built, like a new Dell, with higher end capabilities for less than you might think (compared to buying a GPU alone yourself).

For example:

It is a desktop. The Dell sticker says it is Inspiron 537. I have both the Dell setup manual and service manual, both of which refer to the machine Inspiron 537.

That is a pretty old rig and I wouldn't through a lot (any) money at it. GPUs are very expensive these days, even used ones.

Something like the previously mentioned GTX 1050 Ti or the similar (newer) GTX 1650 family would be okay.

The Radeon RX 570 may not work with the Dell's power supply. Something like a Radeon RX 560 should work.

Something like this might do the trick: https://www.newegg.com/zotac-geforce-gtx-1650-zt-t16520f-10l/p/N82E16814500494?quicklink=true
