Is it wise to buy a GTX 1060 3gb for 1080p gaming at 20000 INR as I'm in urgent need of a GPU. My current GPU died and I know GPU prices are not good at the moment but I need a GPU badly.

MY Rig:
I5 3450
8gb RAM
CX 500
1th HDD

3GB of VRAM is not recommended anymore. More and more games (AAA top titles anyway) are requiring a minimum of 4GB and recommended of at least 6GB. And that's at 1080p resolution. If you want to play some of the newer games and your GPU only has 3GB VRAM, you'll have to turn down some quality settings like anti-aliasing and texturing to prevent stuttering.

You don't say what your previous graphics card was, but don't rule out buying a used GPU on the market in your location. FYI a GTX 970 is about equal in performance to a 3GB GTX 1060. Miners are not selling GPUs, they are buying them so I wouldn't be concerned about a used GPU being used 7x24 for mining. Also keep in mind that Nvidia's Volta replacement for the GTX 10xx series is...

Considering your location that's a pretty good price for a 1060. A 1060 with 2 or 3 fans will usually run cooler and OC better if temp. limits are an issue with features such as Nvidia's GPU Boost 3.0. A blower(some refer to it as turbine style) style fan usually will run warmer but they also blow most all of the exhaust out of the back of the case. There may be leakage at the I/O plate. That can help with chassis's environment, albeit a small amount. I prefer a cooler GPU. I'd buy it at that price here in the US if I were in the market for one. I have a 1080 Ti so an upgrades is years away.

if you location has AMD equal card to the 1060 (480/580/470/570) and the price is right than AMD could be a better buy because Freesync monitor (which may already have) is cheaper. other than that good luck with the mining problem.

Freesync is great and trust me if you need to throw 2 or 3 fps away for that...do it.
