I am looking for some opinions on the best fit for adding a graphics card to a computer that I got at a surplus raffle from my work.

Dell Vostro 420
Intel core 2 quad Q9650
8gb of pc2-6400 RAM
350w power supply

So far I am leaning towards the overclocked version of the gtx 750 ti. I was also considering upgrading the power supply and going for the R9 270, but I am worried about a bottleneck with that setup.

300 watts will power the 750 series nicely, so 350 is just icing on the cake. We bought a 750 for my kid and he runs it on an HP mt6000 office machine with a 300 watt PSU and a q9550. He can play stuff like the battlefield seies on high (campain). Even if it bottlenecks (the 270), would it matter ? You could carry it over to the next machine or sell it when you upgrade.

Good afternoon. I just had to replace my failing video card. I found this one and put it in today. ASUS R7240-2GD3-L Radeon R7 240 2GB 128-Bit DDR3 PCI Express 3.0 HDCP Ready Low Profile Video Card
