Im looking at upgrading my video card, but I'm very worried about compatibility issues and want to check with everyone here before purchasing anything to make sure the card i buy will cooperate with the rest of my system.

Heres what i have right now

OS: Windows 10 Home

GPU: Amd R9 380 sapphire

CPU: Amd fx 8350

RAM: 16gb HYPERX RAM (2x8Gb)

Motherboard: Gigabyte 970A-DS3P

Case: "Full Size" Phantex Enthoo Luxe (Tempered glass edition)

Power Supply: Apevia ATX-AP800W

Hard Drives:
  • 500Gb Samsung SSD
  • 2x 1TB WD1003FZEX-00MK2A0 (ATA)

Im not looking to get the best of the best, but i am looking for a significant upgrade. At least on-par with current consoles, preferably a step above. Around the $500CAD mark, give or take $100, best bang for my buck card that will work with everything.

Thanks ahead guys

upgrade the cpu/motherboard/ram first
Does it need it? I wasn't aware, the CPU rarely sees more than 40% usage, ive never used more than 8Gb of RAM, and the system is only used for gaming, but the core clock is always maxed out playing anything on halfway decent graphics. Sea of Thieves needs to be turned almost all the way down to run at 60fps on 1080p
