I just bought parts to build my very first pc and I am confused on the cables to use from my psu. I got a psu Seasonic M12II “Bronze” Series 620W that has 8pins for its PCI-e/CPU. It came with two cables with an 8pin PSU and two 6+2pins PCI-e on the other side. And I have a Gigabyte GTX 970 G1 Gaming that requires a 6pin, 8pin PCI-e. Is it ok to use only one of these cables to power my GPU?

If I understood correctly, your PSU provides two cables for PCI-E. Each of them has 8 pins to be plugged into the PSU, and the other part of the cable provides 2 connections in 6+2 configurations?

If that's correct, you can use only one cable. For 8 pin connection on the card, use 6+2 connection, and for 6 pin on the card use only 6 pin (and leave additional 2 pins on the cable unconnected).

Sorry for the confusion guys. The cable consist of an 8 pin connection for the psu and the other end of the cable has two 6+2 pci pins which I can plug to both the 6pin and 8pin connection in the card. And I think herrwizo already answered my question. Thank you :)
