Hello Everyone,

Been working through fixing up my PC lately and been met with a lot of frustration. Fixed a handful of issues but now whenever I play ANYTHING my gpu temps skyrocket up to 90 Celsius or more. I just cleaned out my case and even cleaned out the GPU fans. Is this just something due to my graphics card itself, or is there something i can do to help that?

SPECS:
CPU: Intel Core i7 4790k @ 4.00GHz
Motherboard: Gigabyte Technology Z97-HD3
Memory: 16.0GB Dual Channel DDR3 @ 799MHz
Storage: 2TB Toshiba SATA
500 GB Samsung SSD
GPU: ATI AMD Radeon R9 200 Series *(Intel HD Graphics 4600)

If a fix is out of the question, could you suggest a new card to get thats reasonably priced?

What GPU make and model? The R9 200 series is a whole generation of cards. Is it an R9 290? R9 280? R9 270?

If the card has a decent cooler, is clean of dust, you have decent case airflow, and it isn't heavily overclocked then the thermal paste may have dried up.

sorry about that, it is a R9 290

I ordered some thermal paste to check that off as potential culprits

Also of note, not sure it matters, but the temps drop 30c almost IMMEDIATELY after closing a game. Just found that odd
