Gpu scaling problems with new monitor

One of my family members have me a new monitor, and I connected it with vga because I dont have any spare dvi cables hanging around. I turned on gpu scaling with the catalyst control centre, and this is what happened: https://www.dropbox.com/s/iwsndfgtdmlkkfq/DSC_0004.jpg

Now I have no way of turning it off, will it work if I connect my pc via hdmi on my tv? Any other suggestions?
