GPU sell questions

I have a GTX 970 STRIX I bought last year on kind of a jump. We needed a new theater graphics card, so I gave my dad my 660, and bought a 970 for a store for....too much.

Anyway, I'm now looking at the 1070 or 1080, but mostly the 1080. I know it is overkill for a 1080p gamer, but I want something that will last.

I am thinking of selling my 970. So here are my questions, numbered for convenience:

1. Where are the best places to sell graphics cards? Ebay? Here?

2. My GPU has been overclocked. In fact, it is currently running an overclocked BIOS. Should I flash the original BIOS and act like I never did anything, or should I give the buyer the option of keeping the overclocked BIOS?

3. Is it better to buy a high-end card (1080), and keep it for several years, or to buy mid-end cards (1070) every year, so that I can resell them for a good price and keep costs down? I suppose I could calculate that on my own.

Thanks for your help. Feel free to move this to the classifieds section if that makes more sense.

If It's 1080p@144Hz, then I don't see why it would be silly. However It's not specified.

i would sit on the 970 for a month or two for the price on the 1080 to get below the founders edition price and for a decent aftermarket one too come out. currently the 970 isnt worth much as its value has been destroyed with pascal however it shouldn't decrease that much more then it is right now. ebay normally gets abit more money i would do a auction but you have too pay more fees i see no reason not to list it here at whatever price just to see if anyone will buy it. and leave the oc.

Well sure. The idea is to have a card that will last. I might consider getting a 2560x1440 144hz monitor at some point down the line if it seems like a good long-term investment. (Would G-Sync be a good long-term investment? It seems like it wouldn't be because of VESA including variable refresh in their new displayport standard)

And if not, I still have my eye out on the 1070, but a 970 to 1070 might not be a huge jump, so it might be worth waiting for the next gen nonetheless. I do have graphics mods that eat up the 4GB easily, though.

OK, I think I might actually do this.

I just got a new job that pays 50% more than I currently make, and I wanted to buy something as a celebration. What I might do is get the ASUS ROG PG278Q G-sync monitor. Is G-Sync worth it to you guys? I haven't seen it for myself, but i've been wanting them to make this exact tech for YEARS and was even trying to develop my own solution back in high school.
