Hello everyone,

I have a rather interesting problem in my opinion. I have bought a new pc, but I had a GPU already, so I removed it from the old PC and installed it in the new one. Now when I turn on the PC and my monitor (whilst connected to mobo), it picks up video right when I turn on my pc (so the mobo startup and W10 startup are shown). But when I plug the monitor in my GPU, it doesn't pick up video signal until W10 is in the lock-screen. This didn't happen using my GPU in my old system.

Is this a GPU related problem, or is it worse?

Thanks!

Christian

Which MOTHERBOARD do you have ? Have you tried installing the latest BIOS for your new PC ? Also, provide full PC specs.

I have the AsRock H170M Pro4 motherboard, paired with an i7-6700, 16GB ram, 250GB SSD, 4TB of HDD space and a GTX 1050 Ti LP from MSI.

I also noticed my W10 isn't licensed anymore, and the built-in troubleshooting in the pc settings won't help with that. Could that be the problem?

Not sure about that, so I can't really comment on this, but it seems unlikely that this is a Windows OS issue. Maybe try doing a FRESH OS re-install ? Which PSU do you have ? Have you tried installing the latest BIOS for your new PC ?

Try to clear and reset all the CMOS/BIOS settings to default, and then re-seat the Video card firmly back on the PCI-e slot, and plug all the appropriate PSU cables. Try to boot the OS in SAFE MODE with the GPU connected, and check whether you face the same problem or not ?

Doing this will rule out a Windows 10 OS issue.
