Question GPU shutting down in games?

It's been happening for a while and underclocking or adjusting voltage doesn't seem to work. if I play a game like WoW, I'll just be in-game then my monitor goes black and my sound gets stuck, then the GPU shuts off. My Pc keeps running as in all other fans are on, but the GPU fans stop completely and the PC is pretty much locked up or restarts itself.
