Hello everyone,

I have an old gaming PC, almost 9 years old and I am going to replace it for a few months., but I still want to use it before I replace it :) My specs are:
Intel i5 3570k,
MSI Radeon 7870 OC,
Asus p8z77-v lx motherboard.

I know it is an old rig, but GPUs performance shouldn't drop down that much. I have noticed that on some old games, which worked very well before, my GPU started overheating. For example, I have played Dark Souls 3 about 4 years ago, and they worked fine. I tried playing Dark Souls 3 again, and now it is unplayable, because my GPU's temperature goes over 85 C, the colors mess up, and game crashes. What is the reason for that? Maybe it is a cooling issue?
Thanks in advance!

Well I just wanted to say that the reason for the sudden overheating was too much dust in the cooling system. I removed the plate and the fans, cleaned them with compressed air, cleaned the thermal paste, and after reapplying the paste and reassembling the GPU cooling system, the GPU started working normaly.
