Question Gpu stop booting

My brother GPU stops working when connecting PCI cable I don't know why, before it was booting normally fine but now when he trys to boot it he can't can you tell me whether the problem is from the motherboard or the power supply because his gpu works fine with my PC

usually they came with just enough psu for the system.

No he didn't but could it be that the problem is from the PCI cable?

you can't run the gpu without the pci cable. so possible. but more likely is the psu
