GPU Stops Working Out of Nowhere

Ok so I've had some issues with my r9 270x and I was hoping to get them sorted. So this is not a new card, I've had it for a year and its worked fine. Then out of nowhere, I go to start my pc up and I get motherboard beeps saying there's a graphical error. So Ill just bang off what I know to save time
-I've tested an old gpu that doesn't need extra power cables and it worked fine
-I've tried other outputs on the gpu still nothing
-I got it tested by my local tech store and apparently it works
-I've tried the basic 2 4pin connectors to power the card as well as 2 molex(converted to 4pin) and still the same thing. So either they both power the card or they both don't
-I have a year old corsair psu so I doubt I'm having issues with it already
-On boot the gpu fans spin up, stop, then spin up again and keep going. Not sure if this is what happened before the issue or if this is new and means it's not getting enough power or something

My guess is the card isn't getting power but I don't have any other psus to test this with and I don't know how to check if my current one is giving power through the two 4pin connectors. Any help is appreciated, thanks.

It's a corsair cx 500watt 80+ bronze

you shouldn't use any molex/4pin adapters, try using the pci ex cable that the psu comes with

if the fans are spinning could it be a pcie port gone bad ?

maybe the cable on it is bad, or the pc shop has no clue what there talking about, especially if the pc shop rhymes with beek squad

Could be the cable, I'll see if I can find a spare or something, thanks. But naw it was a Canada Computers and I trust them enough

if you tried another gpu the pci ex port should be fine. only left options are the pci ex power cable, adapters (but chances are slim for both to fail at the exact same time), the 270x itself - but you tested that - or the psu. you shoudl test that next or get anotehr one to try out if you can borrow one that can run the card.
