GPU stops working when put under stress, but works fine in another set up

Hi everyone,

I wanna start off with my rig specs:

Operating System: Windows 10 Home 64-bit (10.0, Build 16299)
System Model: GA-A55M-DS2
BIOS: Award Modular BIOS v6.00PG
Processor: AMD A6-3500 APU with Radeon(tm) HD Graphics (3 CPUs), ~2.1GHz
Memory: 8192MB RAM DDR3 1600MHz
DirectX Version: DirectX 12
Graphics Card: EVGA GTX 770 SC
PSU: EVGA 80 Plus White 600W

Now to the problem:

My friend recently gave me his GPU (EVGA GTX 770 SC ) that flawlessly works in his rig(we tested it after it did not work on my computer).
When I installed the GTX 770 in my rig, my computer completely freezes whenever I open a game or use a GPU stress test. When I restart my computer, the GTX 770 is not being recognized(its not running/no NVIDIA control panel/not being shown on DXdiag or anywhere else).

Prior to installing the GTX 770, I had a Radeon R7 360 that was working fine. The issue appeared after I installed the GTX 770.

Partial solution I have accomplished so far:

I found a partial solution when I set the Power Target (on EVGA Precision XOC) to 80%. I can play games without it freezing, but at the same time it seems to limit the GPU quite a bit since it only reaches a maximum of 60 degrees Celsius and I don't get the performance of a GTX 770.

Troubleshooting I have done so far:

All components of the computer are clean.
I tested the memory with memtest86 and nothing came up, it seems to be working fine.
I tested another PSU, the issue persisted.
CPU seems to be working fine under stress, no issues whatsoever.
I monitored the temperature of all components including the GPU, no issue.
I formatted my computer and reinstalled all drivers (everything is up to date).

I think it is also important to note that the GTX 770 works perfectly on another set up. This makes me believe that the issue is with my motherboard but I do not have another to spare. Also, I find it weird that the Radeon R7 360 works fine in my current motherboard.

Anyway, does anyone have any idea on how solve this issue?

Much appreciated!

It looks like the PSU can't handle the gtx770sc, you can play the games with power limit and r7 360, that means the PSU can't handle the gxt770sc, also you reinstall the OS so that it is not the MB or drivers problem. Also it is not the temp problem, assuming you monitor the cpu temp too.

Thank you for the reply, cin19.
As I mention in my post, "I tested another PSU, the issue persisted."
I used my friends PSU (the previous owner of the GTX 770) and the issue persisted, plus, I did some research and the EVGA 80 Plus White 600W supports the GTX 770. Hence, I do not think its the PSU...

Any ideas?
Thank you again.
