Hello everyone. Today after cleaning my computer I noticed that the frame rate in games and overall performance dropped noticeably and I started to figure out what was going on. Eventually I found that the GPU z reports that the video card is running in pcie x8 3.0 @ x1 3.0 mode under load. The CPU z also reports that the current link width is x1. I tried all the known methods that I could find, but nothing helped
-Reseated the GPU multiple times
-updated the bios
-updated the chipset driver
-cleared the CMOS
My computer is
Motherboard - Gigabyte b450m k (v 2.0)
CPU - ryzen 5 2400g
GPU - rtx 4060
Then I tried to plug in two other GPUs and the gpu z reported that
gtx 950 also worked x1 3.0
But strangely gts 450 used 8 lines, the max number my CPU supports, but was stuck in 1.1 mode despite the fact that the GPU supports pcie 2.0, but it could be due to the fact that the gpu is pretty old and i should have manually selected gen 2.0 in bios instead of auto but since the gpu doesnt support uefi i couldnt get there.
So, does it mean that i somehow damaged either CPU or motherboard and now i have to gamble and buy one of these?
Any opinions and recommendations would be appreciated.
