Hello everyone. Today after cleaning my computer I noticed that the frame rate in games and overall performance dropped noticeably and I started to figure out what was going on. Eventually I found that the GPU z reports that the video card is running in pcie x8 3.0 @ x1 3.0 mode under load. The CPU z also reports that the current link width is x1. I tried all the known methods that I could find, but nothing helped
-Reseated the GPU multiple times
-updated the bios
-updated the chipset driver
-cleared the CMOS

My computer is
Motherboard - Gigabyte b450m k (v 2.0)
CPU - ryzen 5 2400g
GPU - rtx 4060

Then I tried to plug in two other GPUs and the gpu z reported that
gtx 950 also worked x1 3.0
But strangely gts 450 used 8 lines, the max number my CPU supports, but was stuck in 1.1 mode despite the fact that the GPU supports pcie 2.0, but it could be due to the fact that the gpu is pretty old and i should have manually selected gen 2.0 in bios instead of auto but since the gpu doesnt support uefi i couldnt get there.

So, does it mean that i somehow damaged either CPU or motherboard and now i have to gamble and buy one of these?

Any opinions and recommendations would be appreciated.

Finally managed to fix the issue, had to downgrade BIOS to AMD AGESA V2 1.2.0.8 (FA version for my mobo). Even with the recent version of BIOS AMD AGESA V2 1.2.0.E the system refuses to work with all intended lanes.

updated the bios
For the sake of relevance, please state the BIOS version you're on at this moment of time.

When posting a thread of troubleshooting nature, it's customary to include your full system's specs. On second thoughts, Please list the specs to your build like so:
CPU:
CPU cooler:
Motherboard:
Ram:
SSD/HDD:
GPU:
PSU:
Chassis:
OS:
Monitor:
include the age of the PSU apart from it's make and model. BIOS version for your motherboard at this moment of time.

Apologize for late response
CPU: Amd RYZEN 5 2400g
CPU cooler: ID COOLING SE-903-XT
Mobo: Gigabyte B450M K (rev 2.0)
RAM: 8GBx2 ADATA PREMIER 3200 Mhz
SSD: Only one Kingston A400 240G
GPU: PALIT RTX 4060 8 GB
PSU: Deepcool PF450 (sorry idk its age, bought it 1.5 years ago)
Chassis: Apparently it's a PC case? If so - DEXP DC 201M
OS: Windows 10 22h2
Monitor: idk tbh, it's a TV SAMSUNG connected via hdmi
BIOS: from the gigabyte website it says - FDg

What was involved in cleaning the computer, especially concerning the cpu and pcie slot? Was cpu removed at all? Thinking of potentially bent pins.

Since the 950 also runs at x1 speeds, can only guess the contacts inside pcie slot aren't so clean now. Isopropyl and lint free qtips and carefully run it along the contacts.

I used thick paint brushes like i usually always do to clean all the dust inside the fan and on motherboard. Yes, i did remove cpu during cleaning.
Well, if it was dust inside pcie slot then it doesnt make any sense to me why gtx runs at 1x speeds and gts 450 doesnt. Anyways, i'll give a try later.
