GPU Stuck in the PCI lane

I have a Maximus x hero mobo and an evga 1080ti sc2. I unplugged the power cable and unscrewed the pcie slot cover screws. I attempted to pull it out and the left side of the card came out but the side with the lock is stuck in the latch. Is there any way to unlock the latch?
By the way, I have a nh-d15 cooler so it’s kinda crammed.

The latch on the right side of the pci slot should have little wing like parts coming off it. Stick something slim, but non-flexible down there, like a screwdriver and press slightly to get it to unlock.

Should be fairly easy to remove after that.

Screwdriver might slip and damage components or break some onboard pathways.
Pencil or wooden stick would be more appropriate, if you can't reach it with your fingers.

I have tried a pencil and a screwdriver, unfortunately, it didn’t work...
The latch is locked firmly it won’t budge at all.

Just solved it by re-seating it and than opening the latch with a pencil. didn’t try to install it just yet, I wanted before I reinstall it to make sure I installed it correctly.
Can you look at this image and tell me if it’s right?

Edit: for anyone having this problem you have to try to reseat it, I couldn’t open it, because it was tough as hell. I would’ve broken the gpu and the pci slot if I hadn’t reseated it.
After I reseated it, it was so easy to unlock it.

If the latch is still there and moves like it's supposed to, you are fine.
