GPU Suddenly stopped working

Hello everyone,

I am writing this because I can't seem to find a clear answer that works for me somewhere.
So my problem is basically that my GPU suddenly stopped working, or at least that my PC suddenly isn't recognizing my GPU anymore.
This afternoon I used my PC, put it in sleeping mode and when I took it out again my screen stayed black. After trying to restart it several times, I connected my monitor to my onboard GPU and this worked, so that's why I think it has something to do with my GPU. The fan of the GPU is still running.

I have tried several things so far:
Disconnecting and reconnecting my GPU (with restarting in between).
Checking the power connection to my GPU.
Trying to reinstall the driver (this isn't working because the AMD driver installer gives error 182: AMD Installer Cannot Properly Identify the AMD Graphics Hardware).
Completely removing the drivers.
Checking the BIOS (almost nothing in here that has to do with graphics).
Restarting it numerous times.

The only thing I haven't done so far is formatting my PC, but I'm hoping it won't come so far.

My system specs:
It was a standard Acer Aspire M3300 so I don't know all the details, this is what I know and changed:
Processor: AMD Phenom II X6 1035T, 2.6 GHz (standard)
RAM: 4GB (standard)
GPU: Club3D Radeon HD 7770 GHz edition (changed this)
PSU: MS-Tech S-ATA PSU MS-N450 VAL v2.3 (changed this)

I hope someone can help me with this. If you need more information, please let me know.
Kind regards.

Solution

If GPU is properly connected and yet OS can't detect it, it's probably dead GPU.
You can try it in other PCIex slot if you have it (to rule out dead PCIex slot)
You can try it in other comp. (to confirm if it's really dead)

Solution
does it display anything at all when it restarts ? have you overclocked the gpu ? have you installed anything recently utility or driver wise that could be causing the issue ? does the fan spin on the 7770 ? have you tried system restore ?
