I'm using an old antec 900, I have no experience with newer cases so I'm wondering are there filters to block dust in newer cases and is it common to have some kind of support for the huge gpu we install now, I have a 1080ti and it feels like it should have something on the far corner, even tho the z390 has a reinforced pcie slot? Or should I just buy a new case, this one did have really good reviews but it is quite dated.

You can always add fan filters.
As far as using an older case, I still use my Rosewill Challenger from 2010 with my new Ryzen 5 2600 build because it has everything I need in a case.
It is nowhere near as pretty as most current cases BUT it fulfills all my PC needs and has excellent airflow.
So it really comes down to personal needs/choice.

Also my ROG strix B450-F MB has a re-inforced PCI-E slot and my MSI GTX 1660 Ti Armor feels very secure so I don't see any need for any other support.
That may not be the case for your MB/GPU so you will have to make that call yourself.
