A few month ago I made my first pc configuration with a gigabyte R9 290. Letely i encountered a few problems. The R9 290 fan( I believe) goes into crazy mode, like working on 100 % ,and the system jsut shuts down. I monitored the temperatures while gaming and on idle and they seem to be good. 38 to 40 on idle and arround 80 to 89 while playing demanding games like the witcher 3. The thing is this never happened while playing any games, only on google chrome. Maybe it happens only there because i am frequently using it (more than other applications) but i havent seen it happen on any game. And i tend to play 4 to 6 hours straight sometimes. Thank you for your help in advance.

I don't see any issues there. If it were me, I'd probably run a full virus scan and a Malwarebytes scan to be sure that wasn't the problem. Then I'd begin disabling as much as possible that runs in the background when Win starts. Check your tray for items you can disable or uninstall. Things you can run on an as needed basis only. Get rid of any bloatware and adware if you have any. Then I'd run CCleaner and do the Registry and Clean portions both to be sure it wasn't registry errors or software conflicts causing the problem.

Lastly, I'd run DDU from safe mode to uninstall any Nvidia and AMD gfx driver and their remnants. Then reboot and install the latest driver for the OS and card. http://www.majorgeeks.com/files/details/display_driver_uninstaller.html

If still no joy after all that, I'd have to consider a piece of hdwr. failing. Possibly the card itself or the PSU. Hopefully not the motherboard.
