Hi guys.

I have a GTX 970 that has been sat in my PC for at least 6 months. Working fine and all drivers etc installed.

This week I took it out to help a friend get their new rig running. However when I placed the GPU back in my machine it now won't display from the GPU's HDMI nor does it show up in Device Manager!

Absolutely nothing has been changed and the PC wasn't even used in between the switch - any ideas?

I did wonder if going into my friend's PC even temporarily may have upset something but can't see how?

As always your help is appreciated. HB

Not really. It's especially concerning it doesn't appear in the Device Manager. I'd try it again in another PC (e.g. your friends) and see if it fails there now also. If so, you possibly damaged it somehow by shifting it from one PC to another.

Sorry I posted in a rush - have already done 'the usual things'double-over to be sure.

As I was typing the above it has literally just came on. I reset CMOS which seemed unnecessary but has done it. No idea why but a win's a win!

Thanks guys

Sorry sorry - this is embarassing - I'd moved the HDMI into the mobo port and that's what came on. I thought on this occasion I'd left it so I could troubleshoot with you guys.

Anyway, back to where I was. What else can I try?
