Hey guys, i have a MSI GTX 770 and all of a sudden the temps are ever increasing. on boot up it slowly rises to 43 Celsius and im not even doing anything. the clock idles at 823Mhz unless i go into a game. If i put the fans on max it will lower the temp to 42 degrees and thats it. Should i reapply thermal paste to it?

Thanks!

Uhhh. 43c is fine. What kind of cooling are you using? This isn't anything crazy right? Most video cards are fine up to 80/90c on load. But it's not advised to let it always run that hot.

43C = 109.4 F, so it would be hardly warm to the touch. It has electricity running through it so it will always be warmer then its environment.

As mentioned most GPUs will operate up to 90C, and will automatically shut off at 105C for self protection.

before then it was running cooly at 33C and then it ramped up all of a sudden. i haven't had time to test under load but im sure its in the 50-60 range withh the fans at 100%. The cooling is the stock twin frozr fans from MSI
