GPU temp too hot

MY SYSTEM SPECIFICATIONS OPERATING SYSTEM: Windows 7- 2.6.1.7601 (Service Pack 1) CPU TYPE: Intel® Core™ i5-3570K CPU @ 3.40GHz CPU SPEED: 3.42 GHz MOTHER BOARD: Asrock z77 xtreme4 &/or asus SYSTEM MEMORY:Corsair Vengeance 8.47 GB VIDEO CARD MODEL: AMD Radeon HD 7900 Series VIDEO CARD MEMORY: 2.87 GB VIDEO CARD DRIVER: aticfx32.dll DESKTOP RESOLUTION: 1920x1080 STORAGE: 128gb SSD for OS HARD DISK SIZE: 7200rpm 1 TB HARD DISK FREE SPACE: 681.22 GB (68%)

When starting up games my graphics card temp jumps from 32 degrees Celsius to 102 in a matter of seconds of the game loading. Once it gets that hot the card shuts off and i get no signal to the display. All the other temperatures in computer are stable and within normal ranges.

Are there anyways to remedy this or do I need to RMA/get a new card?

First of all: Ensure no cables or debris are obstructing your GPU's fans. Also ensure the Graphics Card is sat securely in its PCIe x16 slot, not at an angle, and that the PSU PCIe x16 Power Connectors are securely attached to the card.

You can try downloading MSI Afterburner and using it to boost the speed of your Graphics Card's fans. That may resolve the issue.

What program are you using to report your GPU's temperature? Does it include a fan-speed monitor? It may be interesting to see if your fans are underperforming.

It is also always useful to fully update your GPU's Drivers to the latest, non-Beta version, just in case of Driver corruption or strange interaction between certain programs and outdated Drivers.

Just over a year old. But I clean it regularly and the card itself is fairly new I had to RMA it just over 3 months ago.

-I did as you suggested and uninstalled the beta drivers and installed the normal ones and got the MSI software. I started up a few games and while the GPU did get hotter than I would like, it went back down to normal temps.
