GPU that can be used for normal CPU operations?

is there a graphics card that can effectively "integrate" with the CPU so that the full power of the GPU is used even when high-demand video resolution isn't required? I have an R9 270 and I don't play games, but would love if all that hardware and processing power could be used for normal computations. Maybe I need another card, or just better software.

Any recommendations?

You could use it for GPU rendering, if you're into digital artistry or animation. You could use it for GPU folding at home; Tom's Hardware has a great team for that. You might also consider crypto mining, if you're so inclined. You could practice ethical hacking and download one of the many applications that brute force passwords. CUDA development? CAD design?

I want to know if there is a GPU on the market that can basically act as a regular CPU and supplement the main CPU when video resolution operations are not required (i.e. i'm not playing video games, which I don't).

It comes down to the fact that I have a fairly powerful graphics card (at least when I bought it...it's an R9 270) that never really gets used. And I would love if there was a way to harness the GPU's power as if it was another CPU
