[SOLVED] GPU that runs quad 2560x1440@75hz

Hi there,

I recently bought two Acer BE270UA monitors which have a native resolution of 2560x1440 and a refresh rate of 75hz.

I need a graphic card that meets the following requirements:

• AMD not Nvidia
• capable of running up to 4 monitors at 2560x1440@75hz (or higher refresh rate)
• quiet GPU
• no (extreme) high power consumption
• cost no more than $600

I am a Linux user and use my setup for productive work like working with multiple virtual machines and so on. I won't use my setup for playing games.

The following card caught my attention: AMD Radeon Pro WX5100. Apparently it meets all my requirements but I am not sure if it is capable of running quad WQHD at more than 60hz.

You should be good to go, given how you've stipulated the card's needs. In fact you're good with the WX5100 or the WX7100 which both fall under the 600USD mark. The monitor you own has DP on it so it's just a matter of plugging the cables to GPU and monitors.

Thank you for your reply. So you think the WX5100 or WX7100 are capable of running 4 WQHD monitors at 75hz or more? Actually this is my only concern.

I received the following Response from AMD:

Thank you for the email.

I understand that you wish to know the maximum resolution and refresh rate supported by the Radeon™ Pro WX 5100 graphics card.

As mentioned in the product datasheet Radeon™ Pro WX 5100 graphics card supports maximum of the 60Hz with 4 monitors@ 1920x1080, 4 monitors @ 3840x2160, 2 monitors @ 5120x2880 and 1 monitor@ 7680x4320.
