GPU Thoughts and Advice

Hello Everyone,
I am currently stuck in the middle of this maze of GPU's currently. I am looking for the best GPU for around the 400$ price mark. I am looking to get a little more range than my current 1060 6GB. Pc specs will be below I currently game on 1080p with 144hz monitor

i7 7700k @4.8
16 GB ram @3000
1060 6GB
250Gb m.2 ssd
550 PSU

One point about the card linked by Darkbreeze is that it uses the reference type cooler, they tend to run hot and make a fair amount of noise.

No I am currently I am using a Asus VG248QE

Then the choice of AMD vs Nvidia won't really matter for you... unless you plan on changing monitors.

Right now, here's what PCPartPicker shows for 1070, 1070Ti, 1080, and Vega56, sorted for lowest price first.

Interestingly, a Gigabyte 1070Ti is cheaper than all the 1070 cards currently.

The Asus should behave just fine with an Nvidia card, just set Vsyc to ' adaptive' in the drivers and leave it off in all your games-that's how it works with my Freesync monitor anyway. 😉

Sorry, that was the wrong card I posted earlier. I'd never recommend a reference card unless you plan to add a cooling loop to it. This would be better and for under 400 bucks, is a pretty damn good choice.
