Question GPU to improve Blender render time.

Thinking of getting an RTX 2060 Super to improve Blender 2.8 render times.
Will my FX 8320 cpu and 16GB ram be ok for this?
Is there any point in keeping my GTX 970 installed along with the 2060.
Cycles and view port rendering are pretty slow as is.

This may not be helpful for you - but still : According to certain sources at Youtube (cannot recall excact title and channel right now), rendering of Blender is substantial more effective when it's running under Linux than windows.

Exept from that I cannot promise that official benchmark results for various graphic cards are directly comparable to the rendering time in Blender.
