I currently have a amd r9 290x graphics card and a amd fx- 8150 CPU and i've been wondering if my gpu is too powerfull for the cpu.

I've been experiencing a lot of blue screen of deaths lately and been wondering if that might be the case.

What error do you get with the blue screens? I've never heard of BSOD's because of overpowerful GPU's... but perhaps your power supply isn't giving enough voltage? Go to your mobo settings and record your 12v, 5v and 3v values and let us know. Also include your entire build.

It tells me the reason behind the BSOD is "authenticAMD"

Please include all details of your build, including the clock speed of your processo, your ram, and etc. However, it could be bad drivers? Have you updated to the latest GPU drivers?

As said before my graphics card is a r9 290x
The memory clock on the GPU is about 5000 MHz and 1000 MHz core clock
CPU is AMD fx-8150 3.6 Ghz
i have 16 Gbs ram
I'm running windows 7 x64

What version are your current GPU drivers? Also, I believe it may be a CPU hardware failure. Next time you have a BSOD, you may want to record the STOP code. 0x124 is a hardware issue, just in case you're getting that. Also, run sfc /scannow to check for any corruption in your windows installation. Run memtest86+ to see if your RAM is stable.

Also, I would recommend checking to see if your processor has any bent pins, as that can easily be the problem... Even if you are 100% certain it doesn't, just check. You never know.

Here are the Dump files if that may help
