[SOLVED] GPU upgrade, ~£300 budget?

Hey up guys,

So I've had this PC some time now and I've not really done much PC gaming for the last couple of years, but want to get back into it more.

The sort of games I'd want to play are The evil within 2, Resident Evil 7, Metro exodus, Scorn if it ever comes out.. Basically I play sci-fi/horror titles and then RTS games.

So at the moment by specs are...

i5-3570k
8GB ram
HD7950 3GB


My monitor is quite old, only being 1680x1050, I want to get the GPU first as I don't think this'll handle Metro Exodus at all, after that I'll pick up a new monitor, not sure if I'll go 1920x1080 or 1440p, obviously more strain for the GPU on the latter, so probably just 1080p.

Just looking at what cards seem to top my budget, it seems my choices are (not a fanboy so don't mind which)...

nvidia
GTX 1060 6GB (which by the by seem to run from £200 right up to over £300?)
GTX 1070 8GB
RTX 2060 6GB

AMD
RX 580 8GB
RX VEGA 56 8GB

Unsure if my CPU would then become a bottleneck with these cards? Albeit even if so I imagine I'll see a significant performance increase regardless.

Small bottleneck , by way of CPU, but overall a good pairing.

If you can get the 2060 within budget it’s an obvious choice. However after your monitor upgrade your probably be wanting a cpu/motherboard/RAM upgrade.
