GPU Upgrade - 1070ti or wait for 1080

Hi there,

Just a Quick question regarding an GPU upgrade, since my r9 380 4GB is really struggeling with prepared v4 (flight sim) and with Gaming in general.



Is it worth upgrading to a 1070ti or wait for 1080, untill I can afford one? Since the 1070ti is 500€ on sale and a 1080 Goes for 200€+ (Dutch prices)

My specs atm :

MSI Z370 (If I'm correct) Motherboard

16GB ram

r9 380 4GB (about 3,5 years old)

i5 8600k overclocked to 4,7GHZ (recently upgraded)

IMO a 1080 is not worth 200E more than a 1070ti so I would go with the 1070ti.

Anyway - GTX 1070 ti is pretty close to GTX 1080 in performance. Might not be worth paying extra for GTX 1080.

Dont buy an asus turbo card , theyre noisy as hell.

The cerberus is €439 , thats a great buy.

Seems that there is only 1 dvi port. Any good card that has 2? Or does a HDMI/display port converter also works, If my screens don't support them?

You can use HDMI->DVI cable, if your monitor has only DVI input.
DisplayPort->DVI cable can be used also. It will be a bit more expensive though.

It has DVI/VGA/HDMI ports

Then use DVI cable for one monitor and HDMI cable for second monitor.

Does that make a difference in how it looks and are the fps the Same?

I don't use the sound systems inside the monitors So that won't be a problem.

With HDMI connection monitor might be limited to 60Hz. This depends on actual monitor.

Since using different cables (DVI and HDMI) doesn't make a difference I probably will go with that one!
