GPU Upgrade. Advice appreciated

Hi all,

I'm looking for a little advice on a GPU upgrade. My current system is:

MSI Mpower z87
Intel i7- 4770k
Gigabyte Windforce GTX 660
16GB ram (2 x 8GB)
Antec TruePower New Series 650W (roughly 5 years old)

I upgrade my GPU roughly every 3 years, hence I'm looking to future proof for said period. The main use for my computer is gaming (some graphically intensive but no plans for 4k just yet!).

I prefer Nvidia cards but this is purely down to familiarity and so, if better performance per £, I would be willing to switch (have no knowledge of Radeon models).

My initial research is pointing me toward a GTX970 but I would be grateful for any thoughts/ recommendations from you knowledgeable people!

My budget is a max of £350 and I'll be making the purchase at the end of April.

Gaming at 1080p right now the 970 is the best bet, or wait till next month and see what AMD has to say about the 300 series and when it will launch.
