GPU Upgrade best option?

Hey guys,

I'm looking at upgrading my the graphics power of my rig, I play mostly racers so need a rig capable of running 60fps minimum, that isn't a problem right now with the current crop of racers.
But Project CARS is another story with all the bells and whistles turned on I get no where near 60fps.

So what's my best option out of the 2 below?

1. Buy another 7950 and run crossfire

2. Buy an R9 290x

Have you not noticed the GTX 970 and 980 that max almost everything at 60 FPS for like 300-600 dollars.

Going to sound a bit stupid but I'm really more of an AMD fan, that's why I haven't listed any Nvidia options

Well you're not gunna get anything better than a 970/980 for a while.
