I'm wanting to get a new graphics card as mine is way out of date and doesn't run new titles very well. I'm a little lost on what will work with my setup as I am way out of practice on figuring these things out. I have a budget of around $400 and am looking for something that will run todays AAA games. Mainly Far Cry 5, Assassins Creed Origins, etc. Any help would be appreciated.

What would be a decent CPU that will work with my motherboard?

650 from Seasonic or Corsair should be good.

This would be a really good choice.

It will be yes, but no point upgrading to that. FX is a dead platform, and the new Ryzen chips are much better than it. I would go for an upgrade, for the CPU Mobo RAM and GPU, although prices of GPU and RAM are stupidly high right now.

Looking at prices for a whole new setup gets ridiculous. I don't know when the ram shortage or mining will end dropping the prices, with that said. Would maxing this setup to its fullest be able to run most games from present to past? I'm not worried too much about future proofing. I picked up a new PSU and the 770, leaving just the CPU to be upgraded.

Not really. The Ryzen chips are light years ahead of FX. Even when FX was released, it was not that great. The 770 is also pretty old, and with 2 GB it will be limiting. FX also tends to run hot, not too mention the multiple cores has a low SCP(Single Core Performance) and would only be good for rendering or stuff like that. Maxing it out should give some good FPS at 1080p for some games but not all.

What is your budget?

I got the 4gb 770 in hopes that would be better. And I would say my budget at this point is $600ish if I were upgrading everything. Thats barely enough for the newer GPUs at the moment.

Alright, keep that 770 for a bit.
