Hi. I have an HP 8300 elite convertible microtower with 320w psu and stock graphics card. Does anyone know if it will be possible to upgrade to the EVGA GTX 1060 3gb single fan? I'm having trouble figuring this stuff out. All very new to me. If you need any other information please let me know. Thank you in advance.

I've done it. I was running a GTX 670 but have recently moved to a GTX 1080. The stock power supply wasn't going to cut it, so I ran a smaller 250W unit just for the video card. That involved using a $15 circuit board that turned on the secondary power supply when the computer was started. I never did fit those parts into the case, so the computer was always open with the guts hanging out.

Recently I bought a 1000W Corsair power supply and installed it using a wiring adapter from Aya Group. I did have to change the wiring on one of the connectors despite what the manufacturer of the adapter said; this info was found on Amazon. Mounting the power supply isn't perfect; I'm using one screw through one of the normal mounting holes, and another larger screw into the perforated grill on the power supply, and it does sag a little. Not ideal, but it works. Maybe later I'll come up with something better, but for now it will suffice and is better than the previous dual power supply solution since I can now close the case.

I have a similar setup, I upgraded to a 750w Corsair psu and a Asus gtx 1060 6g. I'm currently waiting on the stupid 6pin adapter. My question is do you have any issues with over heating with your setup. I'm just curious if a fan upgrade of additional cooler are necessary.
