GPU upgrade help.

Hi everyone!
I'm looking to upgrade my gpu and would like some input on it.
Current Specs
i7 3770 @3.4GHz
16 gigs ram (Personally don't need that much)
I'm thinking about getting a r9 270 or if possible a r9 270x. Also, if possible can you tell me recommended watts in my psu? The main question is, is the r9 270x better or should i stick with the r9 270. (First time builder)

Initially before anything , what is your budget and what games you'd be playing and at what resolution.

My budget is around 160-200 for the graphics card and around 100 dollars for the psu.
I would like to have at least 40-60fps in high graphics with games like battlefield 4 and planetside 2, ect.

In that price range you should go for 960 rather than the 270x. As far as a PSU is concerned, 500W would be enough.

960 outperforms 270x in every aspect and consumes less power as well. You"ll definitely get the performance you want on those games assuming you're playing at 1080p( nothing like 4k or QHd and all).

You just said dollar and i asumed to be USD , nevermind.

You can go for 270X in that case , though i didn't find the prices for the sapphire model on the AU site for pcpartpicker. It has XFX there , which is not a bad option. But i'd still recommend getting the sapphire one.

Though it has sapphire R9 270 priced at 15 more bucks than your budget. You can go for that.

The Seasonic 500W psu is fine for any of the above cards. Though i could't find the pricing for that , but i think it will fit in your budget.
